take cover :-) (my first trip to israel)
...wish me mazel tov my friends...the countdown is running. Will be in Tel-Aviv by the end of next week for my first Sa-El Trip. Looking very much forward to it. If there is someone of you round Gordon Street on sunday 23th he will be invited for a drink!!

Israel survived Madonna - twice. Bring it on.
Seriously, have a great time. Take endless pictures. When you are tired and can't find strength to do anything else that day, go for a walk, breath the air, and remember where you are. Niseah Tovah - good travels.

Good luck you will have a nice trip. I visited Israel last July. Hot but wonderful.
Be sure to visit the Western Wall on Firday evening "Shabbat" and say your prayers at the wall. If you are going to visit Jaffa stop at a resteraunt by the name of Dr. Shakshouka. Big meal in an ancient resturant. Shalom and wish I were going with you. I will be going back in the spring of 2011 with my synagogue.

Oh and while we are on food, don't miss Israels fave snack, the falafel! It tastes so much better in Israel. Anyway you cant miss it, they are all over the place lol.

I went to Israel when I was about 13 years old.
Nuts, I was too young then to really appreciate the culture, the colours and great atmosphere. Sadly, I experience all this in 1995 when Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated. We paid our respects at his burial ground. Anyway, I remember sampling the fish from the Sea of Galilee. I really loved this Roman themed restaurant in Jerusalem too. They dressed you up in a toga and you feasted on roasted chicken, olive oil and other delicacies. So if you get a chance to get some sight seeing done, maybe you could check out the place (if it's still there!). I can't wait to return to Israel again and I'm pretty sure it'll be a real memorable experience for you
