Exclamation Russian Newspapers Predict 'Direct Conflict' With USA

Russian Newspapers Predict 'Direct Conflict' With USA
Russian state newspapers predict ‘direct military conflict’ with US as it compares Syria stalemate to Cuban missile crisis
BY PAUL HARPER

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/191389...issile-crisis/

'Third World War' fears have been voiced by the newspapers over the growing tensions between the USA and Syria

A RUSSIAN newspaper fears a Third World War with the US over Syria.

Tabloid Moskovsky Komsomolets predicts a “direct military confrontation” on par with the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The US suspended contact with Russia over Syria on Monday.

Secretary of State John Kerry has been enraged by airstrikes on rebel-controlled areas of Aleppo.

Hundreds of innocents are believed to have been killed in the attacks.

BBC Russia correspondent Steve Rosenberg referred to two Russian newspapers taking an aggressive tone towards the US.

In one article headlined ‘The stakes are higher than Syria’, the paper Moskovsky Komsomolets warns of a potential new war.

It states: “Just imagine that the US does what it has wanted to do for a long time and strike against Assad, not by mistake but on purpose and openly.

“Should Russia defend its ally or consider striking against the Americans but this would definitely lead to a Third World War (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/191430...atomic-weapon/).

“Russia can win big in Syria but it can also lose big too. We must not forget that in Syria we are playing an astonishingly risky game.”

Moskovsky Komsomolets adds that even its country's own fighters would not be confident in a war with the US.

"According to our fighter pilots, the best we could do is shoot down a few coalition forces but this would mean a full-scale war," it added.

The Russian tabloid Moskovsky Komsomolets discusses the potential war with the US

Veteran broadcaster Vladimir Pozner told the BBC: "There's a real feeling now that America is out to prove it is the only superpower.
"The continued expansion of Nato is seen by the Russian leadership, perhaps incorrectly, is seen as being a real threat.

"There is a danger of real confrontation, perhaps leading to some kind of military engagement and war."

It has previously been reported that Putin is preparing for war with the West (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/172069...-experts-fear/).

Russia is already staging a massive evacuation drill to prepare for nuclear war. (https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/190790...-rise-with-us/)

More than 200,000 emergency services personnel and soldiers will use 50,000 pieces of equipment during the civil defence exercise.

Exclamation Russia Tells Citizens ‘Nuclear War With The West Could Happen Soon’

Russia Tells Citizens ‘Nuclear War With The West Could Happen Soon’
By Rob WaughRob Waugh for Metro.co.uk

http://metro.co.uk/2016/10/04/russia...-soon-6171489/

As tensions rise in the middle East, an official TV channels in Russia has issued a chilling warning that war with the West could be imminent.

Zvezda, a nationwide TV service run by the country’s Ministry of Defence, said last week, ‘Schizophrenics from America are sharpening nuclear weapons for Moscow.’

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday proposed a law suspending a Moscow-Washington agreement to dispose of weapons-grade plutonium.

Officials said on Friday that underground shelters had been built which could house 12 milion people – enough for the entire population of Moscow.

Russia has clashed with the Western powers over its policy in Syria – where it’s accused of bombing civilians – and the U.S suspended negotiations with the country yesterday.

Both Russia and NATO are still in the position to unleash global-scale nuclear attacks – and the weapons are armed and ready.

The Arms Control Association says, ‘United States and Russia still deploy more than 1,500 strategic warheads on several hundred bombers and missiles – far more than necessary to deter nuclear attack – and they are modernizing their nuclear delivery systems.

No state with a large nuclear arsenal – such as Russia or America – actively WANTS nuclear confrontation.

What observers fear is a military or political confrontation which builds up tensions around a nuclear missile attack – possibly leading one side to fire.

Hydrogen bombs would destroy most civilian buildings in a 10-mile radius (based on a 20-megaton weapon exploding 3.3 miles above the ground), according to calculations in Physics and Nuclear Arms Today.

The effects on people nearby would be even more frightening, with a blast killing thousands or millions instantly, followed by poisoning from radioactive fallout from the blast.

Witnesses of the Hiroshima attack said that people near the centre of the blast ‘vanished’.

William Burchett said, ‘Of thousands of others, nearer the centre of the explosion, there was no trace. They vanished. The theory in Hiroshima is that the atomic heat was so great that they burned instantly to ashes – except that there were no ashes.’

Exclamation Russia Preparing Its Citizens For a Nuclear War With The West

Russia Preparing Its Citizens For a Nuclear War With The West As The U.S. Suspends Ceasefire Negotiations
By Sahash Khanal

http://www.inquisitr.com/3561774/rus...a-world-war-3/

Russia is reportedly preparing its citizens (http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-n...ar-war-8971068) for a full blown nuclear war against the West. The country’s officials and its media have claimed that the West, led by the United States of America, is planning to launch a nuclear attack against Russia, Mirror reports.

Russian officials are now trying to prove that they are ready for whatever is to come, as they announced on Friday that Moscow already has enough underground shelters for its 12 million people and the rest of the nation will soon follow in its footsteps. Zvezda, a channel of the country’s defense ministry, had released a headline last week that said “Schizophrenics from America are sharpening nuclear weapons for Moscow.”

Also as part of their preparation for war, the country’s officials have announced that a staggering 40 million of its citizens are set to take part in a nuclear disaster drill between October 4 and 7. That is almost a third of Russia’s population. Along with them, almost 200,000 specialists from the “emergency rescue divisions” with 50,000 different equipment are set to be involved in the four-day drill. The Russian Ministry of Civil Defense made the announcement via its official website and has called the 4-day long program a “civil defense, emergency evacuation and disaster preparedness drill”.

There have been severe tensions between the United States and Russia over the Russian military’s intervention in Syria. Putin’s officials had previously announced that they had foreseen an attack by the U.S. right after the two nations break off their faltering talks (http://www.inquisitr.com/3519178/u-s...ssia-in-syria/) over the Syrian conflict. And in an alarming development, that has just happened.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had announced earlier (http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/0...090948735.html) that the U.S. was “on the verge” of ceasing talks with Russia following weeks of severe air strikes by the Russian military on Aleppo. The United States Government released an official statement on Monday, delivered by U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby, saying that they had officially suspended all talks with Russia.

“The United States is suspending its participation in bilateral channels with Russia that were established to sustain the cessation of hostilities.

“This is not a decision that was taken lightly.”
Only hours before the U.S. government confirmed that they had ceased talks with Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin had signed a decree to suspend Russia’s agreements with the U.S. over the disposition of weapons-grade plutonium. The decree had cited “unfriendly acts” by the United States Government.

Russia’s foreign ministry released its own statement saying that it regretted suspending talks with the US and explaining their side of the story.

“Washington simply did not fulfil the key condition of the agreement to improve the humanitarian condition around Aleppo. After failing to fulfil the agreements that they themselves worked out, they are trying to shift responsibility on to someone else”.

In the statement, the ministry’s spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also added that Russia had in fact made serious efforts in fulfilling the ceasefire deal with the U.S. in the past few days. She also explained what ultimately led to the failure of the deal.

“It all essentially came down to a simple question – who are Jabhat al-Nusra, who is behind them, and why can’t Washington fulfil its promise to divide the terrorists from the so-called moderate opposition.”

A former White House expert on Russia, Andrew S. Weiss, commented on (http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/04/wo...yria.html?_r=0) the suspension of negotiations between the two superpowers and what this could mean for their futures.

“Cooperation over Syria was the Obama administration’s last and best shot for arresting the downward spiral in the bilateral relationship with Russia. The mistrust and hostility toward the United States by the Russian leadership is real and growing. It is going to be the driving force behind Russian external behavior for many years to come.”

Exclamation 40 million Russians prepare for Nuclear War

40 Million Russians Prepare For Nuclear War
As international tensions rise, Russia undertakes its biggest civil defence exercise since the end of the Cold War.
By Angela Borozna

http://theduran.com/russia-prepares-...ace-in-russia/

More than 40 million people will take part in the nationwide nuclear preparedness exercises (http://www.interfax.ru/russia/530781) in Russia between October 4th and 7th, according to the director of the Department of Civilian Defense, Oleg Manuilo.

More than 200,000 emergency specialists and 50,000 units of equipment will be involved in the exercises.

All civil defence systems will be set to readiness status, and all of the regional municipalities will check communications and medical assistance readiness.

Here are just a few reasons for Russians to be worried:

1. In 2015, the Pentagon considered options “that would improve the ability of U.S. nuclear weapons to destroy military targets on Russian territory (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/06/04...uclear.html),” and U.S. think tank analysts openly suggested preemptive strikes (https://sputniknews.com/military/201...ama-putin.html) against Russia. According to the former Assistant Treasury Secretary, Dr. Paul Craig Roberts (http://usawatchdog.com/u-s-has-plans...craig-roberts/), the United States has plans for nuclear war with America’s rivals: “Washington not only has war plans for launching a preemptive nuclear attack on Russia, and also possibly China, but Washington has a cadre of people who advocate nuclear war. We have people running around Washington saying things such as ‘What’s the good of nuclear weapons if you can’t use them.’”

2. In 2014, the United States sent B-2 stealth bombers to Europe “to show support for NATO allies.” The Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit is a multipurpose stealth bomber designed to deliver nuclear weapons, but it has been used as a conventional bomber in all major U.S. military campaigns, from Afghanistan to Libya. It was first used by the United States during the 1999 war in Kosovo.

3. U.S. vessels (https://sputniknews.com/world/201606...black-sea.html) occasionally enter the Black Sea, leading to Moscow’s talk of “retaliatory measures.”

4. Six NATO ships (https://www.rt.com/news/237645-russia-nato-black-sea/) staged war games in the Black Sea in 2015, with Russia replying that it will take “necessary countermeasures” in response to the Alliance’s increased presence in the Black Sea.

5. In June 2016, a U.S. guided missile destroyer (https://news.usni.org/2016/06/06/vid...irst-time-2016) entered the Black Sea for the first time.

6. NATO jets fly over the Baltic (https://sputniknews.com/military/201...tics-nato.html) region without turning on their identification devices more often that Russian military aircraft.

7. In July 2016, NATO decided to move four battalions, totaling 3,000 to 4,000 troops, into northeastern Europe – “to defend eastern members (http://www.reuters.com/article/us-na...-idUSKCN0ZN2NL) against any Russian aggression.”

8. Operation Anaconda (https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...-anaconda-2016) in June 2016 was a massive provocation that looked like a dress rehearsal for a NATO invasion of Russia. All the ingredients are present (http://nationalinterest.org/blog/the...y-17044?page=2) in the eastern Baltic area for an East-West conflict escalating to nuclear weapons use. Although there is nothing to suggest that Russia wishes to invade the Baltics, nor does it make sense for Russia to occupy three countries, the United States and NATO have done everything possible to convince their public that the Baltic states are in danger (http://www.reuters.com/article/us-na...-idUSKCN0YZ0LW) of Russian invasion. As a result of this invented danger (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articl...invasion-fears), NATO’s Baltic Deterrent Force is planned to be in place (http://www.wsj.com/articles/natos-ba...017-1474188298) by May 2017.

9. Disagreement on Syria is irreconcilable – Russia wants to help Assad and the U.S. insists, “Assad must go!” The U.S. bombing of the Syrian army in Deir ez-Zor on September 17th was not dismissed in Moscow as a “mistake” but perceived as a deliberate undermining of the Syrian position.

10. Former CIA Director Michael Morell openly called for “killing Russians (https://www.rt.com/op-edge/355789-ex...ll-russians/)” in Syria.

11. U.S. State Department spokesman John Kirby warned that the collapse of U.S.-Russian cooperation in Syria could lead to a rise in extremism in Russian cities.

The United States and Europe have worked overtime in the last two years trying to convince their citizens of Russia’s “aggressiveness.” Forget about the destruction of the Middle East (See video #1 at bottom of this post), unleashed by the United States and its “allies,” the Western media is trying hard to convince its gullible public that the aggressor is Russia, headed by the “evil mastermind” and the scapegoat for every occasion – Vladimir Putin.

Misinformation and outright lies about Russia has become business as usual in the Western mainstream media. Misdirecting attention or blaming Russia for crimes committed by the United States and its allies in the Middle East has reached the United Nations, where recently Samantha Powers referred to Russia’s action in Syria as “barbarism,” not counter-terrorism (http://www.businessinsider.com/us-ru...rbarism-2016-9).

Russian Ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin replied: “In all my years in international life, which is over forty years, I’ve never seen such an extraordinary display of American heavy-handedness as we are witnessing today.”

The accusations of Russia “bombing the humanitarian aid convoy” or of “Russians committing crimes in Syria” are so reminiscent of “WMD in Iraq” or “Assad gassing his own people” that the Kremlin surely takes notice – any U.S. military action to overthrow a foreign leader started with the vilification of that leader. And don’t we know by now how evil (http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/25/opinio...vil/index.html) the Russian leader is? Just turn on CNN – you will find out!

According to the main mouthpiece of the U.S. State Department, The New York Times, Russia is an “outlaw state (http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/29/op...region&_r=0),” evidently, because it dares to fight ISIS in Syria. For doing so, The New York Times calls for more sanctions on Russia.

Exclamation China Prepares For War Against U.S. as Russia Edges on Nuclear Catastrophe?!

China Prepares For War Against U.S. as Russia Edges on Nuclear Catastrophe?!
By Conservative Army

http://www.usapoliticstoday.com/high...r-catastrophe/

The world’s armies are readying themselves for an epic Armageddon style battle! From Canada’s Project Maple, to America’s Jade Helm, to Europe’s NATO drills, to Chinese and Russian naval war games. Countries are drilling and preparing their troops for battle, and these drills are among the LARGEST drills yet to be initiated! They are preparing for something MAJOR!

America’s Jade Helm 15 drills are breaking records as forces deploy to occupy 10 different states across America. Preparations include: practicing for gun confiscation, martial law preparation, war readiness, and preparations for any type of crisis.

In Canada Project Maple is also breaking military records as it occupies different parts of the country practicing gun confiscation, martial law, war, and crisis preparation.

In the Mediterranean Sea China and Russia Naval vessels have conducted their own live fire war games. And now China is retrofitting thousands of their merchant ships, readying themselves for war!!

In the interest of global peace, the United States must mend relations with China, or else suffer the consequences of World War III. At least, that’s what billionaire investor George Soros says.” — Sputnik News

Also in Europe, NATO is hosting the largest drills in history. Tens of thousands of troops are preparing for war. Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Scotland, Belgium, Poland, Netherlands, Finland, Lithuania, UK, and Estonia, are all involved.

Rick Rozoff, a member of Stop NATO International, informed Press TV News this past Friday that the US and its NATO allies are nearing a high-risk military standoff with Russia over the crisis in Ukraine, a situation that he believes could lead to one of the worst catastrophes in history:

“The threat posed by the post-Cold War revival and the expansion of the NATO cannot be overestimated,” said Rick Rozoff. “It has the potential quite literally to lead our planet and its people towards the worst catastrophe in history, which would be a nuclear war.”Press TV News

Not to mention the fact that Russia is beefing up their arsenal, and that tensions are continuing to rise between the United States and Russia as Putin pushes towards a new round in the arms race claiming that since the US withdrew from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty in 2002 he feels led to do so:

“Not military conflicts but global decisions like the US unilateral withdrawal from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty lead to a Cold War,” Putin said. “This more in fact pushes us to a new round of the arms race, because it changes the global security system.” (RT News)

I hate to say it, but we are literally teetering on the brink of World War III with China, Russia and the United States as key players. Be ready, we only have seconds left!

Exclamation China Preparing For Future Fight With US

China Preparing For Future Fight With US
By CNN
Senior China Analyst Willy Wo-Lap Lam

http://www.rense.com/general38/conflict.htm

HONG KONG, China (CNN) -- The Iraqi war has convinced the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leadership that some form of confrontation with the U.S. could come earlier than expected.

Beijing has also begun to fine-tune its domestic and security policies to counter the perceived threat of U.S. "neo-imperialism."

As more emphasis is being put on boosting national strength and cohesiveness, a big blow could be dealt to both economic and political reform.

That the new leadership has concluded China is coming up against formidable challenges in the short to medium term is evident from recent statements by President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao.

Hu indicated earlier this year Beijing must pay more attention to global developments so that "China make good preparations before the rainstorm ... and be in a position to seize the initiative."

Wen also pointed out in the first meeting of the State Council, or cabinet, last Saturday the leadership "must keep a cool head."

"We must boost our consciousness about disasters and downturns -- and think about dangers in the midst of [apparent] safety," he said.

Alarm bells about a deteriorating international situation have been sounded by the CCP's secretive Leading Group on National Security (LGNS), which coordinates policies in areas including diplomacy, defense and energy.

The LGNS, which is headed by Hu, has since early this month called a series of meetings to discuss ways to handle the Iraqi crisis.

In the near term, of course, the focus is on the impact of rising oil prices -- and on the need to build up a strategic oil reserve that can last at least 30 days.

However, economic concerns are not the top priority. Given the likelihood oil prices will drop after the resolution of the conflict, some government economists are saying the war's impact on this year's economic performance will be insubstantial.

Officials even cite the safe haven theory to predict foreign direct investment flowing into China will exceed the record $52 billion last year.

Of more concern to the LGNS is the perceived expansion of American unilateralism if not neo-imperialism.

As People's Daily commentator Huang Peizhao pointed out last Saturday, U.S. moves in the Middle East "have served the goal of seeking world-wide domination."

State Council think-tank member Tong Gang saw the conflict as the first salvo in Washington's bid to "build a new world order under U.S. domination."

Chinese strategists think particularly if the U.S. can score a relatively quick victory over Baghdad, it will soon turn to Asia -- and begin efforts to "tame" China.

It is understood the LGNS believes the U.S. will take on North Korea -- still deemed a "lips-and-teeth" ally of China's -- as early as this summer.

These developments have prompted China to change its long-standing geopolitical strategy, which still held true as late as the 16th CCP Congress last November.

Until late last year, Beijing believed a confrontation with the U.S. could be delayed -- and China could through hewing to the late Deng Xiaoping's "keep a low profile" theory afford to concentrate almost exclusively on economic development.

"Now, many cadres and think-tank members think Beijing should adopt a more pro-active if not aggressive policy to thwart U.S. aggression," said a Chinese source close to the diplomatic establishment.

He added hard-line elements in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) had advocated providing weapons to North Korea to help Pyongyang defend itself against a possible U.S. missile strike at its nuclear facilities. Forestalling the challenge Hu was elected president of China by the NPC this month. Hu was elected president of China by the NPC this month.

Even less hawkish experts are advocating beefing up the national security apparatus.

Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) economist Yang Fan pointed out the recent global flare-ups had alerted China to the imperative of improving national security and cohesiveness.

"Equal weight should be given to economic development and national security," Yang said. "As we become more prosperous, we must concentrate our forces [on safeguarding national safety]."

What is China doing to forestall the perceived U.S. challenge?

Firstly, the CCP leadership is fostering nationalistic sentiments, a sure-fire way to promote much-needed cohesiveness.

While not encouraging anti-U.S. demonstrations, Beijing has informed the people of what the media calls "increasingly treacherous international developments."

This explains what analysts including Beijing scholars considered the unexpectedly virulent official reaction to the start of the Iraq war.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said the U.S.-led military campaign had "trampled on the U.N. constitution and international law" and that it would lead to regional and global instability.

Equally tough statements were issued by the National People's Congress (NPC) and the advisory Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Major official media such as Xinhua and People's Daily have run dozens of articles and analyses whose gist is that, in the words of commentator Li Xuejiang, the invasion of Iraq had "damaged the international order."

In an apparent departure from Beijing's cautious attitude at the beginning of the Iraqi crisis, authorities last weekend allowed a group of nationalist intellectuals to hold a conference condemning U.S. "hegemonism."

The corollary of boosting national cohesiveness could be the suppression of dissent, particularly politically incorrect views expressed by "pro-West" intellectuals.

The warning and punishment that party authorities recently meted out to several Beijing and provincial publications may augur a relatively prolonged period of ideological control in the interest of promoting "unity of thinking."

On the economic front, the authorities may play up the imperative of concentrating resources to boost China's "economic security" and "energy security."

"The Wen leadership is checking out why earlier plans to build up a strategic oil reserve failed to materialize last year, when prices were much lower," said a Beijing-based party source.

"It is possible that bucking the overall trend of market reforms, Beijing may bring back more government fiats to sectors deemed to have strategic and national-security implications."

It is instructive that in his 90-minute long interview with the international media last week, Wen was quite reticent about boosting economic reform such as the liberalization of state-owned enterprises.

In accordance with the theory of "the synthesis of [the needs of] war and peace," civilian economic projects in areas including infrastructure may be planned will the requirements of the defense forces in mind.

On the military front, the Iraqi conflict will kick start another season of accelerated modernization of weaponry.

Diplomatic analysts in Beijing said PLA officers and strategists had been scrutinizing the latest hardware used by American and British forces.

They pointed out the PLA's astonishment at the wizardry of American firearms used in the 1991 Gulf War was a major factor behind the Chinese army's aggressive modernization drive through the 1990s.

Academy of Military Sciences (AMS) expert Peng Guanqian pointed out that the Iraqi war would provide the Pentagon with "a testing ground for new military equipment and strategies."

The Liberation Army Daily last Friday quoted unnamed officers from the Army and the People's Armed Police as saying the PLA must "quicken the pace of military modernization."

Such developments could in turn hasten a possible showdown between the two countries that harbor deep-seated mistrust of each other even in relatively tranquil times.
