Default IDF haircut

I was just wondering if anyone who served in the IDF can tell me about the IDF haircut(or Israeli cut, you know the short haircut most Israelis have?)

What would be the equivalent? eg. buzzcut #3

I'm thinking of getting one but I dunno how to tell the barber/hairdresser.

Can someone please help me out???

From what i've seen, recruits get like a #2 all the way around. Yet many I have known that serve tend to somehow keep it pretty long. I guess it depends on what your doing and where.

Boot camp haircuts are standard number 2.

Once you in active duty, it is subjective. If you are on a major base, chances are there is a barber on the base and you are rotated in to visit him.

If you are in the boonies, such as an outpost, the barber comes to the base on an infrequent schedule. So if you are not around, you can get away woth it being a little longer.

Reservists, of course, have no haircut requirement.
