Exclamation Post your 2 km run times.

Mines 8:46 unfortunately :(
Hoping to get it down to 8:00 by November 16, my gibush.
I run 2km, 3 times a week for practice.

What are your 2 km run times?

my last run was 8:34
i also want to get it down to 8:00 and under
i run 3-4km 2 a week and all the other days i do sprints or 1 km before i do anaerobic exercises.

10.4 minutes is my best so far, but I must say I was running 10km - no speed intended - (so I simply calculated it); so far I didnīt try 2km only at full speed

My lifetime personal best is 6:02, but that was about thirty years ago. Today was 7:14.

I ran 6:42 at that "track" at Bezek, but that was a long time ago.

6:02???? That would mean running a 5 minute mile and then the last 400 in 62 seconds. There are people who can do that, but not many and nobody I ever knew. The best I ever heard of was 6:15 by a guy who wore a red kumta with no tag. Those who understand will understand.

Given all the new interest generated on the forum on this topic, Ive decided to give myself a shot at it.. Im not much of a sprinter, just do normal cardio, like to preserve my muscle mass :D
Any tips on preparing myself for the run? I dont wanna end up with noodle limbs or cramps all over...
Most i am accustomed to is a short sprint at 9-11kmph on the treadmill for upto 45sec..

I walk up around 4.5 kms at a go quite often when I don't feel like catching the bus home (can't be buggered driving these days, too many calculations, does the miniature I downed in my coffee break put me over the DUI limit etc. etc. ).

Of course I usually do it in 45+ minutes and smoke a couple of rettes and down a can of bourbon-cola on the way

Given all that, I must say, kudos on doin it in under an hour

In my day the baror was the 2000m, sit ups in a minute, and pushups (not timed). I trained I would say almost two years. I went to special prep. courses summer of 1997 and 1998. I was very, very dedicated and motivated - completely unlike now. If I tried to run 2000 meters in under 7 minutes today I would have a heart attack and die. I mean I lift weights and even jog 3 or 4 times a week but at a nice easy Safta pace. There is no way that I could get back into that kind of shape from late 90's. Maybe I could do as many pushups. Maybe.

My first time doing miluim I had just come back from almost a year of traveling in South America. I was horribly out of shape. They gave me back the Negev and I thought "how did it get twice as heavy?"

Most people do lots of hiking and outdoor activity in South America. My friends and I just drank every night until 5 AM and told stories from the army.
