Default Iran: Arab World 'fears' Ahmadinejad

http://www.adnki.com/index_2Level_En...43831395&par=0

IRAN: ARAB WORLD 'FEARS' AHMADINEJAD

Tel Aviv, 25 Sept. (AKI) - (by Ahmad Rafat) - The Arab world fears the Iran of president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad possibly more than Israel, according to David Menashri, head of the center for Iranian studies at Tel Aviv University. "The Lebanese conflict has opened the eyes of Arabs who now fear more than ever Iran's attempt to become a leading regional power," says the analyst.

"By questioning the Holocaust, denying an historic truth, or calling for the destruction of Israel, the Iranian president tries to turn the nuclear programme of the Islamic Republic into a dispute between Tehran and Jerusalem rather than making it look like a threat to the security of the region and the world," says the analyst.

According to Menashri, Ahmadinejad's presidential nomination was a "very smart move by conservative ayatollahs" because "with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the head of the government, the real radicals who retain actual power such as ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei appear like rational, moderate people."

The professor also noted that "the absence of the Arab world from the regional political scene and scenarios like the crisis in Iraq has enabled the Islamic Republic to fill the void and promote itself as a leading power."

"What happened in Lebanon however sounded the alarm of Sunnis and Arabs who are terrified and are now trying to find the means to confront Iran, which is also armed and praised by their people." Iran is widely accused of arming, together with Syria, Lebanon-based Shiite militia Hezbollah which sparked the war with Israel after abducting two Israeli soldiers in a cross border raid in mid-July.

The Israeli analyst however is convinced that the rising price of oil is Iran's real threat.

"People don't embark in revolutions when they are hungry but when their stomachs are full they start making social demands authoritarian regimes cannot meet without questioning their existance."

Is until now that the arab nations can see the danger they are in??

Things doesn´t seems to change:
Ahmadinejad is the new Hitler (calling for the jews elimination)
Iraq is the new Vietnam. (a total disaster for the US):(
Hugo Chavez is the new Fidel Castro. (As populist and radical as Fidel)
Ben Ladem is the new Che Guevara. (Being a symbol for his followers)
Kim Jong Il is the new Stalin. (A "prehistoric" communist dictator).

See, everyting is the same and we have to be ready for everything as always.

Yip ,you are right. The more things change, the more the remain the same.

or same shiit, different day.

I can see the Arab population being conserned by this outspoken Ahmadinejad. He talk tough words ,I wonder how far he will push them words.

We seen in Lebanon that Iran quickly distanced themselves from the conflict so as to not get openly involved, but were quick to cry for the Arab countries to help fight for them.-No M.E. country wanted to put their neck on the line for a mess that Irans sponced hizbos created.

No, just "Zionists", which translates to probably 6 million Israelis, a Zionist is a Jew who is unwilling to live under Sharia law, thats my translation, feel free to dissagree.
