Last one isn't really a vid, but it's true blues. Powerful.

The incredible Sam Cooke, who was without peer, singing The Riddle Song. If I recall correctly, read somewhere that this particular clip is from the the old Jerry Lewis TV show and originally aired on December 7, 1963:

Here's one that was mentioned earlier and another Beatles priceless classic: Hey Dude!

(woops...I meant Hey Jude!)

Ah yes, a Tele through what looked like a pignose amp. As much as I love the blues, I can't believe I've never seen Crossroads. Gotta fix that.

Got the album that is on (Cheap Thrills) for Christmas in 1969. :yup:

Here's my favorite Billy Joel song of all time: Travelin' Prayer. It's a much-overlooked gem from his 1972 masterpiece second album Piano Man. When I went to see if there was a video to accompany the song, found many of them but came across this one below which thought was simply incredible and expresses the meaning of the song's words perfectly:

I also had the album and plus many more. I don't know if I gave them away or what!

You amaze me scelli with the knowledge of musical history and the musical library you have. Nope, I have never heard or heard of this little gem.

odie072 12-23-2010 02:06 AM

I liked that Billy Joel song, but that's a lot more "folkish" than I thought he was. Was his early stuff more folk, or was that just a special song of his?? Was never a big fan, but I really liked that one.

I agree with Americal, your knowledge of the early stuff is impressive!! Blues, soul and harder rock is what I mainly listen too, although, I do like classical violin like Joshua Bell and Itzhak Perlman.

Post some more later on tonite.
